About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

The Shawano County Humane Society is dedicated to providing compassionate, humane care to animals in need, reuniting lost pets with their families, and placing unwanted animals into responsible, loving homes. As a nonprofit organization supported by donations and fundraising efforts, we are committed to serving both animals and our community with integrity and care.

We strive to continuously improve our visibility and impact within the community while delivering the highest standard of evidence-based animal care. By incorporating current best practices and ongoing learning, we ensure every animal receives safe, effective, and compassionate treatment.

In addition, we are committed to expanding humane education and public outreach—helping the community better understand our practices, promoting responsible pet ownership, and building trust through transparency and education.

Adoption fees help cover only a portion of the cost of care. All animals receive medical treatment and basic services prior to adoption. Availability is first come, first served, and we do not place holds. Adoption fees may vary depending on breed, age, or specific needs of the animal.
